Thank you, ICC! (formally known as FCI) They graced me with the “Outstanding Alumni Award” in 2015. I had to opprotunity to speak to hundreds of graduates at Carnegie Hall alongside Jacques Pepin, Alain Sailhac, Jacques Torres, Cesare Casella and many more.

This has a special place in my heart thanks to Gina Depalma who was a dedicated chef to the cause, especially since she battled cancer for many years. RIP

This was for you, Gina. xo https://www.sharecancersupport.org/

On March 29, 2017 The International Culinary Center hosted a panel featuring female leaders in the industry; Food for Thought: A Culinary Conversation Among Women. Here we spoke on the challenges women face across the industry (family/work balance, equal pay, "boys club", etc.) serving as the impetus. It focused on providing a positive change going forward by giving women solutions to everyday push back.

As 2020 develops into one of the most pivotal years in my life, there are some new perspectives I have acquired and they demand more attention and a cultivated spotlight in my daily life. #BLM #blacklivesmatter

  • Follow @justiceforgeorgenyc for all events in NYC that pertain to silent vigils, safe + peaceful protests, bike rides and more. There are several other handles with that name that end with a different city.

  • PETITIONS help move the movements by requesting something be done, most commonly addressed to a government official or public entity. Petitions to a deity are a form of prayer called supplication. However, many have debated that petitions are a waste of time. www.change.org

  • Campaign Zero is a nonprofit that analyzes policing practices across the country, research to identify effective solutions to end police violence, and technical assistance to organizers leading police accountability campaigns to name a few.

  • DONATE! NY magazine (The Strategist) compiled a good start to where you can contribute;

    “137 Ways to Donate in Support of Black Lives and Communities of Color”

    • The Strategist also provided another good place to start supporting the Black community by creating a directory of over 100 Black-owned businesses.

  • VOTE now more than ever www.vote.org

Here are some animal rescues I also contribute to; hoping to help spread the good work that these teams do!

  • AMA Animal Rescue - a group of women located in Brooklyn, NY

  • Rescue Dogs Rock - NYC group that also has a handful of partnerships across the country to extend their rescues beyond New York's borders.
